Being Natural

My natural hair journey started in  2005, and it has most defiantly been a journey to say the least. When I started my natural hair journey, it was not as popular for you to see many African American women wearing their natural hair. I remember when I started my journey I got a lot of people saying, " you need to perm your hair" and "your hair is sooo nappy". These remarks came from other African American women. I could never understand why it was a problem to where our hair the natural way. So it was a struggle because I went against the grain of what was considered to being beautiful. I never let that get me down though. I never let it get me down because I liked my natural beauty no matter what other people said. I found that the hardest part of my natural journey was when I got in the "awkward stage"....OMG it is the worst....well I say that because your hair is in the transition faze of fully growing out. I wanted to have my foxy brown fro, so I gained much patience in the process. I learned about different products that are good for my hair, and I also learned that every body's natural is not equal. If you are a natural you can understand this. You can understand this because one product that works for me may not work for you. It can take a minute to figure out what your natural hair needs. I figured out that I needed to keep it simple and just stick with raw natural products. I don't mind sharing with you the products that I do use and what my "routine" is.

My Disclaimer: Please be aware that I am not a cosmetologist. Any tips on hair that I share is based off of my personal use and what has worked for my personal hair journey. Please understand that this is my hair journey and nobody elses.
